Our Process

1. Selections and Estimate

The first step is to estimate your square footage and discuss the project. From there, you will need to select your stone preference. If you can imagine it, we can design and install it! From there, we will give you a written quote based on your measurements.

2. Onsite Template

A GMI specialist will come onsite and traditionally measure your project and go over any special requirements that you have. The actual measuring process should only take a couple of hours. Finally, we can answer any additional questions that you have.

3. Fabrication

Fabrication is done on one of our in house machines, which allows us to ensure that each corner is exactly the same and all sink cutouts are exactly to specification.

4. Installation

After we field measure and have all the required paperwork, your GMI specialist will call to schedule a day and time to come out to install your new countertops. This install date is generally 1-2 weeks after we field measure. The installation process itself takes anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on the complexity of the job.

Quality Control & Hand Finishing

The final step in the process is the inspection of the stones. The stone fabricator will ensure the edges are uniform around all sides of the stone(s). Then they will be reviewed from multiple angles to make sure the light is bouncing off the edges uniformly, and the color of the top of the stone and the edges match perfectly. At this point, we have a finished product ready to be installed in your home.

Stone is truly a piece of natural art, and following this extensive process ensures that your finished product is a beautiful focal point of your space. Mixing experience, technology, tools, and artistry is the key to a stunning end result.

F.A.Q.

Should I choose granite for my kitchen?

Granite is extremely immune to scratching, breaking and staining, and is impervious to heat. Regular kitchen activities pose no obstacle, and it can take a hot pot without a trivet. This makes granite an ideal choice for countertops.

How fast will my project be complete?

This depends solely on how big or how intricate the project. The normal kitchen countertop outfitting is 2-4 weeks depending on the project. This includes the design process, the shipping of the stone, and the installation.

What's the difference between Quartz and Granite?

Quartz is an engineered stone and is practically maintenance-free. It’s resistant to stains, scratches, and acids. It has a wide range of applications but we most often see it as kitchen countertops and backsplashes. It is more affordable and has a shorter life-span.

Granite is highly resistant to scratching, cracking and staining, and is impervious to heat. Daily kitchen activities pose no problem. This makes granite an ideal choice for countertops and has a much longer life-span.
